Apple TV+ Orders Second Season for “Schmigadoon!”

13 JUNE 2022 - News from Apple TV+ that might strike one as somewhat surprising: The Cupertino-streamer has announced a second season order for the musical comedy “Schmigadoon!” An order for a new season isn’t a complete surprise. The show won awards and was a hit for Apple TV+. But the story was told, and can you do the whole 1950’s musical thing again?

New story, one imagines, and new old genres to tackle. While the press release gives no hint as to the story, it does say that season two of “Schmigadoon!” will find our characters in “Schmicago, the world of ’60s and ’70s musicals.”

Everyone appears to be back, including show leads Cecily Strong and Keegan-Michael Key. Season one is available to stream now on Apple TV+. No word on a premier date for season two.
