Apple Highlights Improvements in Employee Diversity
28 MARCH 2022 - Half of Apple’s staff in the States is from underrepresented communities. That’s the word from Apple’s Inclusion and Diversity report, by way of The Mac Observer. From 2014 through 2021, Apple’s site says:
The number of female employees globally is up 89%
The number of employees from underrepresented communities in the U.S. is up 74%
The number of Black employees in the U.S. is up 71%
The number of Hispanic/Latinx employees in the U.S. is up 104%
The company also has numbers for shifts in leadership from 2014 through 2021. Including managers at all levels of the company, Apple says:
The number of female employees in leadership globally is up 87%
The number of employees from underrepresented communities in leadership in the U.S. is up 80%
The number of Black employees in leadership in the U.S. is up 84%
The number of Hispanic/Latinx employees in leadership in the U.S. is up 90%
