Apple has kicked nearly 20 apps out of the App Store. Business Insider says the Cupertino-company put the kibosh on the apps for violating its adware policies. The security company Wandera found that apps from India’s AppAspect Technologies Pvt. Ltd. were pulling some shady stuff in the background. According to the report:
Wandera researchers found that the apps contained trojan-clicker malware, meaning that the apps could open links or webpages in the background and click them without the user's knowledge, which can artificially inflate traffic and generate ad revenue for the owner. Known as adware, it isn't necessarily as dangerous as other forms of malware, but it can drain a device's battery life.

Interestingly, the Business Insider report had Apple confirming the removal of 18-apps. While it looked like 18, Wandera says it was 17-apps, with one app served in two regions with distinct metadata but the same codebase, splitting the hairs of angels dancing on the heads of pins. The apps span a number of categories from financial apps to cricket scores to a couple that look like religious news. They include:
