We seem to be through the nomination part of awards season and arriving at the part where they’re sending home trophies. The Screen Actors Guild awards were held Sunday night - held and handed out. Apple issued a press release announcing four wins for two titles.

On the series side, it was another good year for “Ted Lasso.” Apple’s surprise hit series took home two of Apple’s four SAG Awards - one for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, and another for Jason Sudeikis for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series.

While all awards are history, the other two SAG Awards were history making. They went to CODA - one for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and the other to Troy Kotsur for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role. With Sunday night’s honors, the release says:

…CODA makes history as the first film with a predominantly Deaf cast to receive the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and (…) Troy Kotsur becomes the first Deaf actor to receive an individual SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role.

CODA and both seasons of “Ted Lasso” are streaming now on Apple TV+.
